Paris is a Banquet!
Paris overflows with art, music, theater, architecture, history, fashion, wine, flowers, fine food, and much more. Although I love every bit of it, today it's all about fine food.
I believe the best way to learn about the food Paris offers is to take what I refer to as a menu-reading stroll through the city. (Yes, many menus are in both French and English.) Even though the city is relatively small in physical size--about 5miles x 5miles, it is worth your time to take a concentrative stroll in the city, through a designated area of your choice. Take your time locating and perusing the numerous cafes, brasseries, bistros, restaurants, patisseries, markets, and street vendors. A good place to start exploring is within the neighborhood you are staying. Nearby works well, especially if you have limited travel time. The photos in this blog represent some of the eateries in the neighborhood where I stayed.

Then, you won't want to miss a stroll down the Champs-Elysees. You may find a familiar eating establishment along this grand and stylish street. Take a look at the photo below.
This McDonald's is one of the most profitable in the world. I wonder if the French Fries are popular? No, I didn't go in, but have to admit I was kind of curious.
As you stroll along, you never know who you might come upon, like this charming, furry fellow taking a snooze while his master finishes his coffee and pastry.
Cole Porter wrote the song I Love Paris for the musical Can Can. Many artists recorded it including Frank Sinatra and Ella Fitzgerald. Recalling the lyrics of the song in my head, I apply them to what I have seen and I can truly say, I Love Paris, too.
